SMARTY Use Case Owners Series: Meet Technische Universität Berlin
Continuing our series on SMARTY use case owners, we turn the spotlight on TUB (Technische Universität Berlin) and their contributions to Advanced Driving Assistance Systems (ADAS) through the SMARTY project.
TUB’s focus lies in advancing cooperative perception for driving assist systems, ensuring ADAS can reliably interpret and predict road-user movements in diverse and complex traffic scenarios. By leveraging SMARTY’s secure and innovative solutions, TUB is advancing ADAS development and testing.
Key advancements introduced by TUB include:
- Realistic and Comprehensive Test Scenarios: TUB utilizes semantic-based declarative languages and advanced reasoning systems to generate realistic test cases, including rare and extreme edge cases, ensuring ADAS robustness under all conditions.
- Integration of Real-Time Data and Expert Knowledge: By combining extensive traffic data streams with domain expertise, TUB creates highly accurate simulations that replicate complex real-world driving conditions.
- Scalable Data Management: With SMARTY’s edge-cloud continuum and functional APIs, TUB efficiently manages and analyzes the vast volumes of data generated during ADAS testing, ensuring secure and real-time processing.
- Interactive V2X Co-Simulators: TUB employs Eclipse MOSAIC to develop and test cooperative perception scenarios, enabling vehicles and infrastructure elements to exchange semantic-level information for decision-making.
These innovations culminate in enhanced ADAS capabilities, enabling safe and intelligent decision-making in dynamic environments. Stay tuned as we explore more of the SMARTY project’s objectives and introduce the next use case owners.
